Islamabad, — Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met with the Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Dr. Jemal Beker Abdulla, in Islamabad on Friday. The two dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interest, including trade and investment, cultural exchange, environmental collaboration, and the promotion of tourism between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Ethiopia.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi highlighted the province’s northern regions, known for their natural beauty, scenic landscapes, and rich historical heritage, as prime destinations for international tourists. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offers vast opportunities for foreign investment across multiple sectors — particularly tourism, energy, agriculture, and minerals — and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to welcoming global investors.
The Governor described Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a cradle of ancient civilization and culture, blessed with abundant natural resources. He emphasized that the provincial government is working to utilize these resources effectively to ensure the welfare and prosperity of local communities.
Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdulla commended Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces and police in the fight against terrorism. He expressed Ethiopia’s keen interest in expanding bilateral cooperation, especially in tourism, education, and culture.
Both sides agreed to strengthen institutional linkages and promote people-to-people connections to enhance collaboration and mutual understanding between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Ethiopia.
