Foreign Minister Jilani Hosts Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong for Bilateral Talks

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN
— Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong of the People’s Republic of China to his office, where both diplomats reaffirmed the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. The meeting delved into a comprehensive discussion covering various aspects of bilateral relations, with a particular focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and mutual economic and financial cooperation.

 

Foreign Minister Jilani expressed gratitude for Vice Foreign Minister Sun’s significant role in strengthening Pakistan-China friendship and acknowledged China’s unwavering support on various issues. Highlighting the steady progress of CPEC, Jilani underscored its paramount importance for Pakistan and emphasized ongoing efforts to unlock its full potential for shared benefits. He also praised China’s continuous readiness and support for all CPEC projects in Pakistan.

 

In response, Vice Foreign Minister Sun conveyed appreciation for the warm hospitality and stressed China’s profound regard for Pakistan as an iron brother and a reliable friend. He expressed China’s commitment to deepening cooperation across all fields, reflecting the robust ties between the two nations in foreign policy.
