Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration unit successfully foiled an attempt to illegally travel to Europe via sea during a swift operation at Karachi Airport. According to an FIA spokesperson, eight individuals were arrested, including Ateeq-ur-Rehman, Qamar-ud-Din, Saad Farooq, and Muhammad.
In addition, four facilitators—Liaquat Ali, Muhammad Al-Kareem, Muhammad Aamir, and Abdul Muqeet—were also taken into custody for their alleged involvement in organizing the illegal journey.
Initial investigations suggest that the suspects were part of a human-smuggling network that arranged unlawful travel routes to Europe. The FIA has handed over the arrested individuals to the Anti-Human Smuggling Wing for further legal action.
The FIA spokesperson reiterated that attempting to travel abroad through illegal means is not only a punishable offense but also poses severe risks to human life. The agency maintains a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of human smuggling.
