Islamabad, Pakistan – The Embassy of Romania, in partnership with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), is launching opera singing courses in Islamabad, starting Wednesday, April 9, 2025. These sessions, held twice a week at PNCA, will be led by esteemed Romanian soprano and opera singer, Georgiana Costea-Glugă.
Course Details:
- Schedule: Wednesdays and Fridays, 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Location: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), F-5/1, Islamabad
- Age Limit: 14 years and above (Younger participants will focus on fundamental techniques)
Opera, a fusion of classical singing and theatrical performance, offers an unparalleled opportunity for vocalists to develop their artistry. Under Ms. Costea-Glugă’s expert instruction, participants will refine their vocal techniques, enhance stage presence, and deepen their appreciation of opera.
This initiative aligns with PNCA’s commitment to fostering artistic expression across various disciplines, including visual and performing arts. Since its establishment in 1973, PNCA has remained a key institution in promoting cultural enrichment in Pakistan.
By introducing canto classes, the Embassy of Romania seeks to celebrate and share Romania’s rich musical heritage, fostering artistic exchange and strengthening cultural ties between the two nations. Open to all aspiring singers—whether beginners or seasoned enthusiasts—this program offers a valuable introduction to the captivating world of opera.
