ISLAMABAD , PAKISTAN
— Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta of Rawalpindi publicly announced his resignation, acknowledging involvement in election rigging. He was subsequently arrested and transferred to an undisclosed location.

During a press conference at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Commissioner Chatta took responsibility for election manipulation within Rawalpindi Division, expressing remorse and surrendering to authorities. He confessed to altering election results, manipulating margins by tens of thousands of votes.

Chatta emphasized the need for accountability, stating that he deserves public arrest and punishment for his actions. He also implicated electoral interference by the military, advocating for clarity through the reevaluation of Form 45 submissions rather than holding new elections.

Highlighting the magnitude of the manipulation, he revealed that 13 National Assembly seats were secured through fraudulent means, expressing regret for his role in undermining the electoral process and national integrity.
