Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), is on an official visit to the United States, engaging in high-level meetings with senior political and military leaders, as well as the Pakistani diaspora.
According to ISPR In Tampa, the COAS attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing United States Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael E. Kurilla, along with the change of command ceremony in which Admiral Brad Cooper assumed the role. He praised Gen Kurilla’s leadership and contributions to enhancing Pakistan–US military cooperation, and conveyed his best wishes to Admiral Cooper, expressing confidence in continued joint efforts to address regional and global security challenges.
The COAS also met Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, to discuss matters of mutual professional interest, and invited him to visit Pakistan. On the sidelines, Gen Munir interacted with defence chiefs from allied nations.
Addressing the Pakistani community in an interactive session, the COAS encouraged confidence in Pakistan’s bright prospects and called for active contributions towards attracting foreign investment. Members of the diaspora reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the country’s progress and development.
