In a commendable display of valor and dedication to duty, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi was honored today by General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), during a meeting held at General Headquarters.

COAS extolled ASP Shehrbano’s unwavering commitment and professionalism in effectively handling a challenging situation at Ichra Bazaar in Lahore on 26th February 2024, where she successfully extricated a woman from a potentially perilous environment.

Acknowledging the pivotal role played by Pakistani women across various domains, COAS emphasized their significant contributions, highlighting the talent, tenacity, and commitment exhibited by women at home and abroad since the country’s independence. He underscored that the respect accorded to women is not only deeply rooted in Pakistan’s societal values but is also enshrined in the country’s religious principles.

During the meeting, COAS emphasized the importance of social harmony and the urgent need for a nationwide consensus to combat intolerance. He stressed the significance of upholding the rule of law, advising against vigilantism and urging the public to utilize legal avenues to address concerns and grievances. COAS cautioned against arbitrary actions based on heresy, emphasizing that such actions can undermine the fabric of society. He further highlighted Islam’s timeless message of kindness and benevolence.

COAS took a moment to express appreciation for the sacrifices made by law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Pakistan.

This occasion serves as a testament to the exemplary service of ASP Shehrbano Naqvi and stands as a reminder of the indispensable role women play in shaping the nation’s future.
