A high-profile delegation comprising Chinese companies and investors engaged in discussions with Mr. Fawad Hasan Fawad, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Privatisation, at the Privatisation Division today. The Federal Minister warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the keen interest shown by Chinese entities in exploring investment avenues within Pakistan.
During the meeting, Minister Fawad highlighted the untapped potential for collaboration between China and Pakistan in the realms of trade and investment. He underscored Pakistan’s appeal as an attractive destination for industry relocation from China, citing the availability of skilled and unskilled labor, abundant raw materials across diverse industries, and a rapidly expanding local market.
Of particular note, Minister Fawad emphasized the promising prospects within the renewable energy sector and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. He articulated that these areas present lucrative opportunities for Chinese investors, aligning with global trends toward sustainable and clean energy solutions.
Minister Fawad assured the Chinese delegation of the government’s full cooperation and support, emphasizing the streamlined investment facilitation process through the Single Window Investment Facilitation Center (SIFC). This initiative aims to efficiently address concerns related to investor facilitation and implementation across various government tiers.
The meeting, attended by Secretary Jawad Paul from the Privatisation Division, served as a platform to strengthen bilateral ties and foster mutually beneficial economic partnerships between China and Pakistan.
