Chinese Ambassador Zaidong and Minister Aurangzeb Align on Priorities for Strengthening Pakistan-China Economic Partnership

The Finance Division witnessed a pivotal discussion today as Ambassador of China, Jiang Zaidong, met with Minister for Finance & Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, to deliberate on matters crucial to economic cooperation and bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

 

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong extended warm congratulations to Minister Aurangzeb on his recent appointment, expressing confidence in further strengthening the economic ties between the two nations.

 

In response, Minister Aurangzeb conveyed gratitude to the Chinese leadership for their unwavering support to Pakistan across various sectors. He particularly highlighted the significance of the roll-over of SAFE deposits and the refinancing of commercial loans, which have played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic stability. Furthermore, he underscored the paramount importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan’s growth strategy and overall economic recovery.

 

Both sides concurred on advancing collaboration across multiple sectors, including industrial zones, agriculture, mineral and mining, as well as renewable energy. They emphasized that the next phase of CPEC would prioritize the monetization of gains achieved during the initial phase.

 

At the end, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to closely collaborate, aiming to deepen and enhance the economic relationship between Pakistan and China. This collaboration reflects the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation shared between the two countries.
