Chinese Ambassador Zaidong and Federal Minister for Information discuss Bilateral Relations & Upcoming Prime Ministerial Visit

The Federal Minister for Information, Ataullah Tarar, met with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zhaidong, to deliberate on pivotal aspects of the enduring Pakistan-China relations. The discussions encompassed a spectrum of issues ranging from the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China.

 

The meeting commenced with an insightful dialogue on the multifaceted dimensions of the Pakistan-China relationship, emphasizing the bedrock principles of friendship, trust, and mutual respect. Minister Tarar reiterated the significance of CPEC as a cornerstone of collaboration between the two nations, highlighting its instrumental role in augmenting trade and fostering economic prosperity.

 

Anticipating Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s impending visit to China, both parties underscored the importance of reviewing ongoing projects under CPEC while also exploring avenues for new investments and initiatives. Minister Tarar underscored the transformative impact of CPEC, facilitating enhanced market access for both Pakistani and Chinese goods.

 

Acknowledging China’s commendable support in the execution of major projects within Pakistan, Minister Tarar lauded the unwavering cooperation extended by China, particularly within the ambit of CPEC. Furthermore, he apprised the Chinese Ambassador of the government’s robust economic initiatives, garnering positive traction in international circles and projecting a promising trajectory for Pakistan’s economy.

 

Expressing appreciation for the government’s economic endeavors, Ambassador Jiang Zhaidong conveyed optimism about Pakistan’s developmental journey under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Moreover, discussions veered towards bolstering cooperation in realms of information, culture, and ensuring the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.

 

In a bid to fortify bilateral ties, both sides affirmed their commitment to fostering closer collaboration in information dissemination and cultural exchanges. A landmark moment awaits with the imminent signing of a news exchange agreement between China’s news agency, Xinhua, and the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) during the Prime Minister’s visit to China.

 

The meeting culminated with a shared resolve to deepen cooperation across various fronts, underscoring the enduring camaraderie between Pakistan and China.
