Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reiterated China’s consistent support for European integration and the European Union’s efforts to enhance its strategic autonomy. He emphasized that China welcomes a more independent and constructive role by the EU in global affairs.
Speaking on China-EU relations, Wang Yi expressed hope that the European Union would reciprocate this goodwill by respecting China’s core national interests through practical and sincere actions.
Highlighting the Taiwan issue, Wang stated that it directly concerns China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He urged the EU to uphold the One-China Principle in both words and deeds, as a foundation for mutual trust and cooperation.
“China remains committed to building a stable and balanced partnership with the EU, but such a relationship must be based on mutual respect, especially on matters of fundamental national concern,” he added.
