Chairman PRCS and Belgium Ambassador strengthen humanitarian ties,fostering collaboration for a resilient future

The Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, convened a significant meeting with the Ambassador of Belgium to Pakistan, Charles DELOGNE, at the Embassy of Belgium today. This meeting signifies a crucial milestone in the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Belgium in humanitarian endeavors.

 

The dialogue provided a platform for both parties to exchange views on matters of mutual concern, with a particular focus on humanitarian aid and disaster management. Chairman Laghari expressed profound appreciation for Belgium’s steadfast support towards humanitarian initiatives in Pakistan, highlighting the substantial cooperation between the two nations in addressing humanitarian challenges.

 

During the deliberations, Chairman Laghari shed light on the ongoing initiatives and prospective projects spearheaded by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, underlining the organization’s unwavering commitment to serving vulnerable communities nationwide. He underscored the pivotal role of international collaboration and solidarity in effectively mitigating humanitarian crises.

 

Chairman Laghari specifically emphasized PRCS’s anticipation of assistance from the Government of Belgium, especially in the post-disaster recovery phase following the devastating Monsoon 2022 floods. He expressed keen interest in enhancing cooperation, particularly with the Belgian government and the Belgium Red Cross, to bolster efforts in alleviating the plight of vulnerable populations in Pakistan. Additionally, Chairman Laghari extended an invitation to Ambassador DELOGNE to visit the PRCS National Headquarters.

 

Ambassador DELOGNE commended Chairman PRCS for the comprehensive insights provided regarding disaster management during the floods, acknowledging the exemplary execution. He lauded the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, under the leadership of Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, for its tireless endeavors in delivering assistance to those in need, particularly during times of crisis. Recognizing the indispensable role of humanitarian organizations like PRCS, Ambassador DELOGNE reaffirmed Belgium’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in its humanitarian pursuits, pledging sustained cooperation and collaboration between the two nations.

 

At the end, Chairman Laghari presented Ambassador Charles DELOGNE with a book detailing PRCS achievements, along with a commemorative shield and souvenir, symbolizing the fortified partnership between Pakistan and Belgium in the humanitarian domain.
