Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador Emin Cohodarevic Meets with President Asif Ali Zardari to Enhance Bilateral Relations

The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Emin Cohodarevic recently engaged in high-level discussions with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad, to bolster the longstanding ties between the two nations.

 

President Zardari emphasized the imperative of fostering robust business and trade connections with Bosnia and Herzegovina, advocating for initiatives such as the establishment of banking facilities, trading in local currencies, and promoting barter trade to enhance economic cooperation.

 

During the meeting, Ambassador Cohodarevic solicited Pakistan’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s draft resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly. President Zardari assured favorable consideration of Bosnia’s request, affirming Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the victims of the tragic events in Srebrenica in 1995.

 

Highlighting the historical and amicable relations spanning nearly three decades between Pakistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina, President Zardari stressed the importance of continued bilateral engagements to explore avenues of cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.

 

Ambassador Cohodarevic expressed his country’s keenness to deepen ties with Pakistan in the realms of economy, security, and culture. He underscored the significant opportunities for Pakistani businesses in diverse sectors in Bosnia & Herzegovina, including food, tourism, and textile industries.

 

Furthermore, the ambassador extended gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their steadfast support to Bosnia & Herzegovina during the conflicts in the 1990s. He extended an invitation to President Zardari to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, aiming to fortify economic cooperation between the two nations.

 

The meeting concluded with mutual commitments to further strengthen the bilateral relationship and explore avenues for enhanced collaboration in various sectors to the mutual benefit of both countries.
