Islamabad: In a significant step towards economic development, investment promotion, and tourism enhancement, the Asian Business Forum (ABF), led by its President Khurram Shehzad and Chairman of the ABF Gwadar Information Cell Ali Raza Chaudhry, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Director General of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Shafqat Anwar Shahwani.
The MoU marks a crucial milestone in transforming Gwadar into a global trade, investment, and tourism hub. It paves the way for investors, industrialists, entrepreneurs, and international companies to explore and capitalize on emerging opportunities in Gwadar. Given its strategic location as a key component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Gwadar is set to become a major player in global trade, and this partnership aims to accelerate its growth.
Dr. Talat Shabbir, Chairman of the ABF Advisory Board, and Ali Raza Chaudhry, Chairman of the ABF Gwadar Information Cell, played a pivotal role in facilitating this collaboration. Speaking at the forum, Khurram Shehzad emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “This MoU reflects our commitment to sustainable growth and prosperity. We are excited to work alongside GDA to unlock investment opportunities and contribute to Pakistan’s economic progress.”
GDA Director General Shafqat Anwar Shahwani highlighted the transformative impact of this agreement, saying, “Gwadar is more than just a city; it is a gateway to regional and global trade. This partnership with ABF will help us attract the right investments and expertise to develop Gwadar according to international standards.”
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in key areas such as infrastructure development, trade facilitation, and investment promotion. It also aims to create a business-friendly environment, positioning Gwadar as a model for sustainable urban and economic development.
As Gwadar continues to emerge as a global trade hub, the partnership between ABF and GDA marks a significant milestone in shaping its future. Stakeholders are encouraged to seize this opportunity and play their part in Gwadar’s development, ultimately benefiting Pakistan’s broader economic landscape.
