Today, 19th April, marks the Day of United Action, a solemn occasion dedicated to remembering the genocide of the Soviet people by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Great Patriotic War. On April 19, 1943, the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR No. 39 was issued, laying down punitive measures for those responsible for the murder, torture, espionage, and betrayal against the Soviet civilian population and captured Red Army soldiers.

During the Great Patriotic War, a staggering 13.7 million Soviet civilians lost their lives. As time passes, it becomes even more crucial to ensure that this tragic chapter in history is never forgotten. We must remain vigilant against the resurgence of ideologies like Nazism and vehemently oppose any attempts to repeat such atrocities.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the resilience of the Soviet people and their unwavering determination to defend their homeland against tyranny. As we honor the memory of those who perished, let us also reaffirm our commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and unity among nations.

Russia stands in solidarity with the survivors and descendants of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, and we join hands with people around the world to ensure that the lessons of history are never ignored.
