Ambassador Pisarski strengthens Poland-Pakistan bonds, highlighting trade, development & environmental cooperation

The Polish Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Maciej Pisarski, reiterated the robust and enduring nature of the bilateral relations between Poland and Pakistan during a meet the press event held on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

 

Highlighting the multifaceted collaboration between the two nations, Ambassador Pisarski emphasized the significant strides made in various sectors, particularly in trade and development. With bilateral trade reaching $930 million, there exists immense potential to surpass the $1 billion mark in the near future. Furthermore, he underscored Poland’s pivotal role as a gateway for 30% of Pakistan’s exports to Europe, demonstrating the strategic importance of their economic partnership.

 

Addressing Pakistan’s energy challenges, the ambassador highlighted the contribution of Polish companies, particularly in the provision of gas and efforts to alleviate the energy crisis. Notably, Polish oil and gas companies are actively engaged in projects in Sindh, thus bolstering Pakistan’s energy infrastructure.

 

Ambassador Pisarski also shed light on the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s capacity in various sectors, including aviation. He mentioned the deployment of thirty Polish pilots and instructors to augment the capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force, marking a testament to the strong defense ties between the two countries.

 

Responding to inquiries regarding fraudulent activities, Ambassador Pisarski reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to transparent processes and reiterated that no fees are charged for interviews or appointments. Additionally, he highlighted Poland’s humanitarian efforts, including assistance to Gaza and support for the establishment of an independent Palestine state.

 

Looking ahead, Ambassador Pisarski outlined his priority to further strengthen bilateral relations, with a particular focus on addressing Pakistan’s energy crisis through collaboration with Polish companies. He highlighted initiatives such as the establishment of vocational schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and projects aimed at empowering women, exemplified by the “Safe Space” initiative in Hunza.

 

Moreover, Ambassador Pisarski emphasized Poland’s expertise in green technology and its potential to address Pakistan’s environmental challenges. The recent exhibition in Lahore showcased Polish companies’ innovative solutions in this regard, signaling avenues for future cooperation.

 

The event concluded with a token of appreciation as the Polish Ambassador was presented with a shield by the President, Secretary, and Finance Secretary of the National Press Club. In reciprocation, the Ambassador extended gestures of goodwill by presenting gifts to the esteemed representatives.

 

Earlier, Ambassador Pisarski received a warm welcome from the President, Secretary, and Finance Secretary of the National Press Club, further underscoring the amicable and close ties between Poland and Pakistan.
