The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam, extended heartfelt gratitude to esteemed guests and distinguished media members during a reception held at the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad.
In his address, Ambassador Moghadam expressed appreciation for the presence of guests on the auspicious occasion, coinciding with the joyous spring night of Ramadan and Iranian Nowruz celebrations. He commemorated the courageous journalists worldwide, including those who sacrificed their lives, notably during the conflict in Gaza, shedding light on injustices and genocidal acts perpetrated by the Zionist Regime.
Addressing the pressing global concerns, Ambassador Moghadam condemned the Israeli regime’s atrocities in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of solidarity against such violations of human rights. He lauded Pakistan’s firm stance against these crimes and commended its government, people, and media for their unwavering support.
Highlighting the bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, Ambassador Moghadam underscored the efforts to strengthen ties in various spheres despite challenges such as illegal sanctions. He cited significant progress in political, economic, and security cooperation, including the opening of two border crossings after 73 years and a surge in trade volume to $2.5 billion.
Iranian Ambassador emphasized the need to capitalize on existing potentials in economic, trade, energy, and tourism sectors for sustainable development and regional prosperity. He praised the professionalism, ethics, and engagement demonstrated by Pakistani media amidst global disinformation campaigns.
In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Moghadam expressed gratitude to the media for their dedicated coverage of Iranian affairs and events, extending wishes of peace, security, and progress to all. He reiterated the enduring bond of friendship between Iran and Pakistan, inviting guests to partake in an Iranian dinner.
