The second annual Astana International Forum (AIF), hosted under the patronage of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is set to convene on June 13th and 14th, 2024, in Astana, marking a pivotal moment for cross-border diplomacy and collaboration. Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2023, AIF 2024 aims to provide a crucial platform for global leaders to address escalating challenges to worldwide security, stability, and prosperity.

Building on the unprecedented participation witnessed in 2023, with over 5,000 attendees from 50+ countries, including heads of state, policymakers, business leaders, and intellectuals, this year’s Forum will revolve around four key pillars: Foreign Policy and International Security, International Development and Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change, and Economy and Finance.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his vision for the Forum, stating, “In an era marked by polarisation and fragmentation, AIF 2024 is poised to re-energize the global community. Under the banner of ‘Empowering People, Uniting Nations: Building a Better World Together,’ the Forum will provide fresh perspectives and collaborative solutions to humanity’s most critical challenges.”

Kazakhstan, serving as a vital bridge between East and West, strategically positions itself to foster meaningful conversations among policymakers, business leaders, and intellectuals globally. The theme reflects the country’s commitment to safeguarding and enhancing the international system amid economic and geopolitical disruptions.

AIF 2024 holds significance for Kazakhstan on the world stage, as the nation is set to chair prominent international organizations this year, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, the Organization of Turkic States, the Islamic Food Security Organization, and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

Registration for the event is open, offering a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to engage in impactful discussions, forge new partnerships, and contribute to the revival of multilateralism.
