Ms. Ina Lepel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan, called on Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj, Federal Minister for Defence Production, at his office in Rawalpindi today.
The Federal Minister warmly welcomed the Ambassador and expressed appreciation for Germany’s longstanding partnership with Pakistan. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, particularly ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of defence production.
Mr. Harraj highlighted that the Pakistan–Germany relationship, spanning several decades, is founded on mutual respect, trust, and constructive engagement. He emphasized that there exists significant potential to further expand collaboration in defence production and related industries between the two countries.
The Federal Minister also extended an invitation to H.E. Ms. Ina Lepel to attend the upcoming International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-2026), scheduled to be held in Karachi in November/December 2026.
Ambassador Lepel thanked the Minister for the warm welcome and expressed her commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Germany. She noted that this is her third diplomatic tenure in Pakistan, having previously served from 2006 to 2009 and 2015 to 2017, and added that she is “delighted to serve once again in Pakistan — a country that holds a special place in my diplomatic journey.”
