At the NATO summit in the Netherlands, former President Donald Trump made several misleading and false claims about global and domestic affairs, including the war in Ukraine, inflation in the U.S., and the fight against ISIS.

Trump falsely claimed that recent U.S. military strikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program. However, early intelligence assessments indicate only partial damage, with Iran’s nuclear progress delayed by mere months—not destroyed.

Regarding Ukraine, Trump insisted his earlier statement about ending the war in “24 hours” was sarcastic. However, fact-checkers have documented over 50 occasions where he made this promise seriously during campaign events.

On inflation, Trump falsely claimed that the U.S. has “no inflation.” In reality, the inflation rate in May stood at 2.4%, a slight increase from 2.3% in April.

Trump also repeated his inaccurate claim that he defeated ISIS “in weeks.” The so-called ISIS caliphate was officially declared dismantled in 2019—over two years after Trump took office.
