TİKA continues to make significant contributions to the shared cultural heritage of humanity by sharing Türkiye’s expertise in the preservation of manuscripts with Pakistan.

As part of these efforts, the archive section of the the Manuscript and Rare Works Library at Punjab University, which houses over 22,000 manuscripts, was modernized to create optimal physical conditions for the preservation of manuscripts.

Additionally, a comprehensive training program prepared in collaboration with the Turkish Manuscripts Institution was organized for 13 experts from Punjab University.

Through programs conducted in Istanbul, Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, Türkiye’s expertise in the care, restoration, and preservation of manuscripts was shared with Pakistani specialists using internationally recognized methods.

These initiatives not only ensure the preservation of invaluable Islamic manuscripts, artistic works, and inscriptions for future generations but also strengthen cultural collaboration between the our brotherly countries Türkiye and Pakistan.
