The Summit emphasized upholding international law and the United Nations Charter, building on previous discussions surrounding Ukraine’s Peace Formula and other peace proposals, reported by International Media.
The Summit participants expressed gratitude to Switzerland for hosting the event, reinforcing its commitment to promoting international peace and security.
During the Summit, a Joint Communiqué was issued, outlining the collective vision and commitment of the participating states and organizations. Key points included:
1. Nuclear Safety and Security:
Emphasis was placed on the safe and secure operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, particularly the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, under full Ukrainian sovereign control in accordance with IAEA principles. The inadmissibility of the threat or use of nuclear weapons was also underscored.
2. Global Food Security:
The importance of uninterrupted food production and supply was highlighted, stressing the need for safe and free navigation in the Black and Azov Seas. Attacks on merchant ships, ports, and related infrastructure were deemed unacceptable. Ukrainian agricultural products must be securely available to interested third countries, and food security should not be weaponized.
3. Humanitarian Concerns:
A call was made for the complete exchange of all prisoners of war and the return of all deported and unlawfully displaced Ukrainian civilians, particularly children.
The Joint Communiqué reiterated the principles of sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all states, including Ukraine, within their internationally recognized borders. The commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means was reaffirmed.
The United Nations Charter will serve as the foundation for achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine. Concrete steps were proposed to continue dialogue and engagement among all parties to address the outlined areas.
