The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates congratulates the journalists of the Gaza Strip on winning the first places and receiving the “Bayeux France” awards for war correspondents at the “Bayeux Calvador Normandie International Festival” in France.

Many Palestinian journalists won first place for their reports and moving photos that documented the events of the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip. Among the winners are:

Rami Abu Jamous, who won the first prize in three different categories including print and visual journalism.

Mahmoud Al-Hams, from the French News Agency, won the first prize for the best photograph.

Mohammed Al-Baba, from the French News Agency, won the school students’ vote award for a photograph.

• Ali Jadallah, from the Anadolu Agency, won third place in the photography category.

Mohammed Abu Safia, from ITV News, won the first prize for the best television report.

Ahmed Abu Ajwa, from Sky News, won the third prize for a television report.

Saher Al-Ghara, from the Zuma Agency, won the Best Young Reporter Award.
Louay Ayoub, a Washington Post photographer, won the second prize for young reporter.

The Ministry points out that despite the Israeli occupation’s deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists and media institutions during their coverage and documentation of the crimes it commits in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, they were able to convey to the entire world the ugliness of the massacres against our people, which reflects their courage and determination to convey the truth despite the risks.

The Ministry reiterates the need to activate the international justice process to stop the violations and crimes against our people, stop the violations to which Palestinian journalists are subjected, and take immediate measures to hold perpetrators accountable and guarantee the rights of journalists within the framework of international law.
