The Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Albert P. Khorev, held a meeting with Pakistan’s Minister for Defence, Defence Production and Aviation, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation in defence and economic sectors.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed matters of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing defence ties and expanding economic collaboration. The discussions also highlighted trade, energy partnerships, and fostering deeper people-to-people contacts between the two nations.
Minister Khawaja Asif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional peace and security, emphasizing the importance of a long-term, multidimensional partnership with Russia. “Pakistan is determined to build enduring relations with Russia, particularly in areas such as defence cooperation, trade, energy, and broader economic engagement,” the Defence Minister said.
Ambassador Khorev assured Pakistan of Russia’s continued support and readiness to collaborate across various sectors of mutual interest. He emphasized Russia’s willingness to work closely with Pakistan to strengthen ties and foster greater cooperation in the future.
Both sides expressed optimism about advancing their partnership to new heights, ensuring stability and prosperity in the region.
