President Asakawa of ADB Visits Pakistan Monuments and Faisal Mosque in Islamabad

The Ministry of Economic Affairs organized a city tour for Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in honor of his visit to Islamabad. Accompanied by Secretary of Economic Affairs Dr. Kazim Niaz, President Asakawa toured Pakistan Monuments in Shakarparian and Faisal Mosque.

 

 

At Pakistan Monuments, President Asakawa planted a tree and laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Monument.

 

Upon arrival, Secretary of Economic Affairs presented President Asakawa with a Ghandhara art album, a cultural cap from Gilgit-Baltistan, and a shawl from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. President Asakawa praised Pakistan Monuments as not only a beautiful recreational site but also an outstanding representation of the country’s cultural heritage.

 

 

Following the visit to Pakistan Monuments, President Asakawa and Secretary Niaz proceeded to Faisal Mosque. At the mosque, President Asakawa was briefed on its history.

 

He appreciated the Islamic art and craft displayed within the mosque and remarked on the mosque’s beautiful design and architectural work.
