The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad hosted a momentous reception at a local hotel, marking the celebration of Russia’s National Day. The gala event, attended by a diverse audience including members of the Pakistani community, Russian diaspora, business leaders, and media personnel, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, notably Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Defence Minister of Pakistan, and Anjum Aqeel Khan, recent winner of the Islamabad seat in the elections.
Federal Minister for Petroleum, Mussadaq Malik, served as the Chief Guest of the evening, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
The festivities commenced with the stirring rendition of the national anthems of Russia and Pakistan, symbolizing the bond between the two nations. Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Albert Khorev, delivered a warm welcome address, expressing gratitude to the guests and elaborating on the enduring relationship between Pakistan and Russia. Ambassador Khorev also emphasized his country’s commitment to fostering cooperation across various fields.
Chief Guest, Minister Mussadaq Malik, extended heartfelt felicitations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan on Russia’s National Day. He lauded Russia’s steadfast support during Pakistan’s energy crises, highlighting the longstanding cultural, economic, and trade ties between the two nations. Minister Malik reminisced about his recent visit to Russia, where he experienced firsthand the rich history, literature, and architecture of the country. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its friendship with Russia for the benefit of both nations.
The ceremonial cake cutting, led by Ambassador Albert P. Khorev and Minister Mussadaq Malik, accompanied by Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov, and Anjum Aqeel Khan, adorned with the national flags of Russia and Pakistan, marked the culmination of the event, symbolizing the unity and camaraderie shared between the nations on this auspicious occasion.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner featuring Russian cuisine, showcasing the culinary delights of the nation and adding to the festive ambiance of the evening.
The commemoration of Russia’s National Day at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Islamabad reaffirmed the enduring friendship and cooperation between Russia and Pakistan, paving the way for further collaboration and mutual prosperity.
