Russia has initiated discussions on the potential removal of the Afghan Taliban from its list of designated terrorist organizations.

 

As reported by a foreign news agency, Russian authorities are actively considering the delisting of the Afghan Taliban, acknowledging their role as the de facto authority in Afghanistan.

 

A spokesperson from the Kremlin emphasized the importance of engaging in dialogue with the Afghan Taliban to address critical issues, signaling a shift in Russia’s approach towards the group.

 

Furthermore, the Kremlin spokesperson highlighted the Taliban’s efforts to pursue delisting from the roster of banned terrorist entities, indicating a willingness to reassess their status.

 

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has underscored that the ultimate decision on this matter rests with the country’s top political leadership, suggesting a thorough deliberation process before any formal action is taken.
